HYBRID Software celebrates sale of 100th PACKZ in Italy

HYBRID Software has announced the 100^th sale in Italy of its professional editing software PACKZ, which has been installed by Artes, one of the country’s leading self-adhesive label printers. The Arcisate-based printer has been producing labels for more than 40 years and prides itself on investing in cutting-edge technology.

Guido Van der Schueren, HYBRID Software chairman, says: “As the only vendor-neutral standard for graphics files, PDF eliminates the problems encountered by proprietary formats that lock-in users and deny them flexibility. By capturing all elements of the job in a single, convenient file, PDF ensures predictable results at every stage, without the need for file conversions which can often slow production. On June 13th our partner GED Ltd. organised ‘GED it! 2017’ in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The thematic focus was on showcasing software for the graphic arts industry. HYBRID Software was represented by Christopher Graf, our Managing Director of the German office, and Pieter-Jan Vancamelbeke, a Software Engineer of the Belgian office. OSTEUROPÄISCHES RESELLER UND PARTNER MEETING IN FREIBURG

Vom 21. bis 24. Februar 2017 haben wir unsere osteuropäischen Reseller und Partner für ein Kickoff eingeladen. Dies fand zum ersten Mal und in den jüngst erweiterten Büroräumen von HYBRID Software in Freiburg statt. Die ersten beiden Tage hatten den Schwerpunkt Sales, am dritten Tag ging es in die Welten der Technik und am letzten Tag konnten die Gäste unsere Solution Engineers mit Fragen bombardieren, bevor sie sich wieder auf den Weg in ihre Heimatländer Schweiz, Bulgarien, Serbien, Kroatien, Rumänien, Tschechien, Polen und Österreich begaben.

Da die meisten unserer Partner und Reseller Freiburg noch nicht kennen lernen durften, organisierten wir eine historische City-Tour mit einer Magd aus dem Mittelalter. Wir durften gruselige, interessante und baugeschichtliche Anekdoten von ihr erfahren. Nachdem alle Teilnehmer gründlich durchgefroren waren, wärmten wir uns bei dem ein oder anderen Bier mit badischen Köstlichkeiten in unserer Stadt-Brauerei Feierling wieder auf.

HYBRID SOFTWARE LAUNCHES STATE-OF-THE-ART PACKZ WEBSITE

People could expect a rather special website when it has been created by one of the industry’s leading software companies and this is exactly what HYBRID Software has achieved with the launch of its new PACKZ website.

“This has been a really exciting project to oversee,” says Christopher Graf, managing director of HYBRID Software GmbH. “Being at the forefront in the development of software for the graphic arts market we wanted to build a site that provides a level of varied information which is accessible in an easy-to-use way that is not often encountered.

“The fully responsive site can be accessed from any mobile device such as an iPad or smart phone, with displayed information and images adapting automatically to the screen and platform being used. All of the data is available in its entirety in ten languages – English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Czech, Portuguese, Chinese and Russian – and these will be added to as time goes on. It’s a truly multi-language facility.”

HYBRID Software has created an extensive series of short videos to demonstrate the different features within PACKZ, which has established itself as a leading professional PDF editor for packaging and label workflows. The native PDF software, which runs on Mac OS X and Windows platforms and provides 64-bit multi-processing and multi-threading facilities, eliminates the need for file conversions or proprietary file formats. Today, there are more than 1,200 PACKZ licences in use around the world.

“The videos are very informative and easy to follow and have been designed to give the feel of a live demonstration,” says Christopher Graf. “For instance, if someone wants to learn more about the 3D warping facility they can read the technical specification and then watch those features actually being used. “In addition, the screen shots have been designed with a degree of detail rarely seen on a website so, for example, trapping, barcodes and text can be increased in size to reveal the smallest points that an operator might be interested in examining. Potential customers can visit the site and come away with a solid understanding of what PACKZ can do for their business.”

The new website has a wide range of clickable links to social media outlets and enables users to easily download free software, such as the PACKZVIEW app for previewing and inspecting production PDF files. Product brochures can be readily downloaded, while company, technical and support information is all clearly displayed, as well as the latest news on software developments and corporate announcements.

HOT NEWS in cold days – PACKVIEW 4.0 released

PACKVIEW 4.0 released

During drupa, many of our visitors picked up a memory stick with the initial version of our PACKZVIEW software. Now we have released a new version of our free app, that features instant preview of complex PDF files, including multipage documents, and it displays transparency and overprints in the same colors that will be printed on press, a big advantage over other ‘free’ PDF viewers. The software is also available to non PACKZ users and can easily be installed by, for example, designers and print buyers who wish to view files from their printer more accurately than other tools allow.
